Shaggy takes plate win at Daytona while Mad Max finishes off field at Chicagoland
Chicago, IL. – The racing competition has been extreme over the last two weeks of racing in the WASCAR Cup Series. At Daytona, it was a matter of speed and terrific race stategyy that led to a dominate win for Shaggy at Daytona. Early on he took the lead and broke away from the pack along with Howard McLeod. Catching up with lap cars after the first pit sequence, Shaggy and McLeod kept their distance from the rest of the pack. As the race was coming to a close, McLeod began to drift back to his teammate for drafting support, with the hope of having enough help to score the win. In a bizarre turn of events, contact with another car sent McLeod into the fence ending his evening. A late caution brought the field together one last time. Shaggy came home with the win and another good performance. At Chicagoland, Max G. returned to competition. Speeds were close but the Maxinator was too much for the field. Point leader, Steve Gallagher led early but handling problems created a loose condition that ended his evening with a handful of laps remaining. Checker ITDH ran into problems early but rebounded well to score another top five and gain some more points on the points leader. Adam Maxwell came home second with Dewski and Checker following. Next up for the Cup Series is Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The server will be open on Tuesday for practice and the race server opens at 8:30 on Thursday Nights with qualifying beginning at 9:15.

Gallagher passes teammate with 5 to go to take win at Indianapolis
Speedway, IN – The famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway was the featured stop for the trucks last Saturday night. The speeds were very close so the expectation for a competitive race was envisioned. As the green flag fell, the drivers started nicely and began logging laps. Howard McLeod began an early charge from the back to get into the top five quickly. The top trucks were pulling the field along and allowed for the possibility of green flag stops to occur. After stops did occur, the field began to separate leaving Gallagher, Checker, and McLeod in a draft of their own. This continued throughout the race until the final stop. With 12 or so laps remaining Gallagher and Checker made their final stop. Gallagher took fuel and two tires while Checker fueled up and took four tires hoping the improved traction would be enough to catch his competitors. McLeod searching for his first win of the season, came in a lap later taking on only fuel. With a five second lead over Gallagher and 9 second lead over Checker, he hoped his worn tires would take him teh rest of the way home. With a few laps remining, Gallagher was able to catch his teammate and move into the lead. Checker was charging hard and McLeod's hopes of one, two Redline Motorsports finish were looking dim. As the trucks took the white flag, Gallagher was well aheard of his second place teammate while McLeod had a one second lead over Checker. As his tires completely gave out. Checker was able to pull up to McLeod's bumper as ther entered turn two. As McLeod was exiting the turn, Checker's truck appeared to push up and turn McLeod as they headed down the backstretch. Spinning down the backstretch McLeod fought to keep his truck out of the wall and continue on. The race finished with a bang and again proved Saturday Night racing at WASCAR is always fun and competitive. Gallagher took the win with Checker, Dewski, McLeod, and Mike Johnson following him. Kentucky is the next stop for the truck teams. If you haven't been out lately, tighten those belts and get yourself prepared for some great racing on Saturday Night. The server opens at 10:00 and qualifying begins a little before 11:00.
